DIY No-Sew Fringe Napkins
While planning my Christmas tablescape that's featured in the Hello Holiday guide by Leon's Furniture, I was on the hunt for a black and white gingham napkins. Unfortunately, I had no luck finding that pattern for a reasonable price. Then it occurred to me, why not make my own napkins? But then again, I haven't attempted to use a sewing machine since my high school days, and I wasn't really the greatest sewer back then. So best case scenario, how about a no-sew napkin!! Anyone can make these No-Sew Fringe Napkins in 3 simple steps!
Materials
• fabric• fabric scissors• chalk• fabric tape measure or ruler
In 3 easy steps, create your very own 'No-Sew Fringe Napkins'!
Step 1: Prepare your fabric. Depending on the type of fabric you use, washing may occur before to prevent shrinking. Iron any creases if necessary. Lay out fabric and decide how big you want to make each napkin. For me 19" by 19" was the ideal size. Step 2: Measure and mark. Using a fabric tape measure and chalk, mark the lines where you will be cutting out each square. Step 3: Fray the ends. Starting on one side, begin pulling the loose fabric threads. Keep pulling into you reach the ideal amount of fringe, around 1/4 inch! You may need to even out the fringe with scissors afterwards to get a consistent edge. What do you guys think!? Pretty easy huh! Napkins easily dress up a table setting giving that extra punch of pattern, colour or whatever it is you want to achieve! The fabric only cost me a whooping $7.95, amazing! These no-sew fringe napkins would make for a great hostess gift on their own or cheerfully arranged in a basket full of a few other fun gifts.Be sure to check out how you can make these adorable vintage inspired "Tree Seedling Table Favors" made out of Campbell's soup cans over at the Hello Yellow Blog! How cute does Jack look sitting and reading!!
