I thought I would start putting together inspiring design moodboards so I can share what I love, is trending, find interesting and inspiring and mixing in all the fun elements of design! After all when it comes to your home, I don't think there is any right or wrong way to decorate, its all your own personal preference and I just want to share some of mine! In Valentines spirits, I put together a little living room moodboard 'Eclectic Love' showcasing soft pinks mixed with deep orange, aqua blues and a little bit of industrial flare while rocking a red sofa! I added in plants to give life to the space and they are a great accessory to fill in blank I-don't -know-what-to-put-here spaces. The love marquee sign and floor lamp add raw elements that break up the girly space. The mid-century modern coffee adds curve to the layout, the pouf adds texture to the space, while the rug emphasizes the colours used through out the room.  When it comes to shopping for furniture, colours scare people, even myself. Neutral furniture is always the safe route because if you get sick of one accent colour you can always swap it out without hurting your wallet, but to change out your sofa is not so fun. Colour is awesome and there are so many different colour schemes that compliment one another, its easy to find inspiration and it makes buying bigger pieces not so terrifying! A simple way to add some fun and excitement to your decor is by adding in a patterned chair... Its a great way to add interest but nothing to overbearing. Some of my favourites are this Watermark Floral arm chair that I recently spotted at Target on clearance (in Canada)! Or this Valencia hot pink chair is super bold and fun for that bachelorette apartment! I am also in love with white brick walls. I. need. one. period. At the design show I saw a faux version, in person it doesn't look as textured but in photos you would never know it was wallpaper, amazing or what!

I have been falling in love with so many inspiring interior design blogs, IG accounts and pins lately that I have been wanting to share my love for interior design. I didn't know that I had such a passion for it until I became a home owner... and well from the early age of 12, I was always constantly changing and redecorating my bedroom in my parents house. It was always a battle with my mom to get her to let me paint my purple room to red and black, eventually my mom gave in and thank goodness I have a different taste these days. Three years ago as a first time home owner, Pinterest wasn't as popular in my world yet so I didn't really know what I liked for home decor. I have always liked unique rustic things so I kind of flew with the country farmhouse look, what I was always familiar with- you know living on a farm and all. Now that I have pinned hundreds on hundreds of inspiring interior decor pictures, I am finally piecing together my own taste and style! And so that leaves me here pondering on my interior to-do love list, figuring out what I can DIY and how I can change things around on a thrifty budget in my home.  I am very good at using what I have to do something new via. sell one thing, gain another type of motto. Right now, I have had my eye on changing my kitchen around a little. I do like the wall colour, I am just a little sick of it and would like to brighten the space up a bit and change my colour scheme slightly. I think if you talk to anyone who is in the interior design industry or that is similar to me, they would agree that there is always something new to be changed or done, its never ending.
