Max's Nursery

111.jpg

Our sweet little Max is almost 5 months old, I cannot believe how quick time flies! That being said, I am excited to finally share his nursery.  Max's room used to be our office, spare bedroom, Brent's extra closet, you name it, it was a multi purpose storage room. When we found out we were having another baby, I was really excited to have another bedroom to decorate. I wanted to paint the bedroom a light grey because it is such a great neutral to work with. If we were having a girl I had planned to add pink and gold accents with different vintage prints (check out my Pinterest inspiration here). Since we had a boy, I used the same owl print valance and crib skirt I had used in Jacks nursery. Owls seem to be one of the theme's in the boys bedrooms. When it comes to decorating, I am no professional. I usually find a few inspiring pictures and then go off a specific item or fabric I admire for the room. The item I based my decor/ colours around for Max's nursery was the crib skirt and valance (red, light blue, grey and lime). The crib is also a wood element, so I tried to incorporate a few wood accents to balance the crib and rocking chair in the room - this adds a little warmth. Also, whatever decor pieces I had leftover from Jack's room, I added to Max's nursery. Overall, my goal was to create an affordable space I love for my baby, I would definitely say that Max's nursery was just that. Thanks to a few DIY projects, some Yard Sale finds and if your patient enough, you can score some good pieces on sale ;)14 2 1 11 4 13 3 7 5 10 9 6 8
